Professional Background:

Dr. Chan's research interests are in the areas of simulation, optimization, and statistics. Current research topics include

  • Agent-based simulation,
  • Discrete-event simulation,
  • Robust simulation,
  • Multiscale simulaiton,
  • Intelligent agent simulation of electricity power markets,
  • Semiconductor manufacturing (scheduling of cluster tools), and
  • Queueing networks with blocking.
We are looking for highly motivated graduate students with a master degree in statistics, mathematics, or operations research/industrial engineering (mathematical programming, stochastic programming, and agent-based simulation).
