Our world-renowned faculty
has established an effective and supportive environment for
education and research, based on a clearly defined core set
of decision-driven disciplines – information engineering,
operations engineering and enterprise engineering. They have
been recognized for both their educational and research achievements.
Their awards have included election to the prestigious U.
S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Fellow designations,
educational innovation and teaching awards, and outstanding
career recognitions.
Computer advances
have brought about a methodological renewal in the aforementioned
decision-driven disciplines. We have capitalized on this renewal
in both our academic and research programs. The multidisciplinary
nature of our research this where – in addition to solving
challenging problems in the established disciplinary fields
– our research is addressing some of the major issues
confronting society. In particular, our faculty are engaged
in developing innovative and integrative approaches to dealing
with operational issues arising in the effective functioning
of service and manufacturing enterprises, adaptive supply
chains and other areas directed at enhancing the human condition
and quality of life.
